Waterproofing treatment of terrace garden or podium slab with or without landscape



A: TAPECRETE P-151 SYSTEM FOR SMALL RCC SLABS WITH CONTINUOUS LENGTH NOT EXCEEDING 30M

  • Cutting groove at a height of 200 mm from projected soil layerall along the parapet walls, wherever applicable.
  • Cleaning the roof RCC surface by means of wire brush to expose the concrete surface which should be free from all loose particles, dust, laitance, etc.
  • Dampening the concerned surface with water to get saturated surface dry (SSD) condition.
  • Making 25 x 25mm size concave corner fillets with Polymer modified cementitious (PMC) mortar (Tapecrete P-151: Cement: Silica Sand = 1: 2: 4-6 by weight) at all joints of horizontal and vertical surface, wherever applicable. Also the joints of outlet pipes and concrete/masonry are to be sealed with PMC mortar. In case of PVC pipes, the joints should be sealed with epoxy putty, CICO Poxy LC or epoxy mortar CICO Poxy 2125.
  • Application of one coat of Tapecrete P-151– Acrylic Polymer Modified Cementitious slurry (Tapecrete P-151: Cement = 1: 2 by weight) coating over the RCC mother roof slab surface and continued upto the groove. This coat is allowed to dry for 4-6 hours.
  • Laying 50-60 gsmFibre Glass Cloth over the treated surface followed by second coat of Tapecrete slurry. This coat is allowed to dry for 4-6 hours.
  • Application of final coat of 2.5mm thick Tapecrete Brushtopping Tapecrete P-151: Cement: Silica Sand = 1: 2: 2 by weight) over the second coat of Tapecrete slurry.
  • Moist curing of Tapecrete system for next two days.
  • Providing and laying screed concrete (1:2:4) on horizontal surface with avg. thickness of 50 mm admixed with CICO No. 1. Also, providing and laying 20mm cement sand plaster in the ratio (1:4) admixed with CICO No. 1 on the vertical face of the parapet wall including grooves.
  • Water curing of screed & plaster as per good engineering practices.
  • Laying of drainage board as per manufacturer’s system.
  • Laying of 300 gsmGeo Textile as filter media.
  • Laying of soil

B: CORCHEM 206 I SYSTEM FOR LARGE RCC SLABSWITH CONTINUOUS LENGTH EXCEEDING 30M

  • Cutting groove at a height of 200 mm from projected soil layerall along the parapet walls, wherever applicable.
  • Cleaning the roof RCC surface by means of wire brush to expose the concrete surface which should be free from all loose particles, dust, laitance, etc.
  • Dampening the concerned surface with water to get saturated surface dry (SSD) condition.
  • Making 25 x 25mm size concave corner filletswith Polymer modified cementitious (PMC) mortar (Tapecrete P-151: Cement: Silica Sand = 1: 2: 4-6 by weight) at all joints of horizontal and vertical surface, wherever applicable.   • Application of two primer coats of Tapecrete P-151 slurry– Acrylic Polymer Modified Cementitious slurry (Tapecrete P-151: Cement = 1: 2 by weight) over the RCC slab surface and continued upto the grooves, including grooves, on parapet walls.
  • Moist curing of Tapecrete system for next two days.
  • Application of first coat of Corchem 206 I, liquid applied polyurethane based elastomeric coating, on primed surface.
  • At the green/ tacky stage of first coat, laying 2030gsm geo-textile as a reinforcement over it. This coat is then allowed to get dry for minimum 8 hours.
  • Application of second & final coat of Corchem 206 I. Miminum thickness of 1.5 mm should be maintained in two coats.
  • At the green/ tacky stage of second coat of Corchem 206 I, laying 100 gsm geo-textileas protective and separation layer. This coat is then allowed to get dry for minimum 24 hours.
  • Providing and laying screed concrete (1:2:4) on horizontal surface with avg. thickness of 50 mm admixed with CICO No. 1. Also, providing and laying 20mm cement sand plaster in the ratio (1:4) admixed with CICO No. 1 on the vertical face of the parapet wall including grooves.
